Quicklaunch Quick Tip

Keeping with the theme of toolbars; one of the most useful toolbars that I use is called the quicklaunch bar. It's normally located just to the right of the start menu and lets you very quickly start programs that you use a lot. If it's not there, I'll tell you how to turn it on.

Let's first make sure that you can see what I'm talking about. If you do a right mouse click on the bar at the bottom of the screen that contains the start menu on the left and the clock on the right, you should see a little menu that pops up. Normally at the top of this menu is "Toolbars". Look in there to see if "Quicklaunch" is checked. Click on it to turn it on if it isn't already.

You should now be able to see the quicklaunch bar. These icons can fire up Internet Explorer or Windows Media Player with just a single click (no need to double click these).

If your favorite programs are not on there, right-mouse click and drag the icon from the desktop or start menu to the quicklaunch bar and copy the icon. You will now be able to start your favorite programs with one click.
